Welcome!
Welcome to my blog. I have Chosen to do my ISU on Douglas Couplands "Life After God." The reason I chose this novel is because it seem completely against anything I would enjoy reading, so I wanted to give myself a challenge. To my surprise, I found this novel is the complete opposite to what I initially thought it was. I suppose I proved that you should never judge a book by its cover. The purpose of my blog is to show you my views on Douglas Couplands' Novel. I have made an effort to form a personal connection to "Life After God" because I found it to be the most challenging connection to make, seeing as I grew up in a home with god, and the novel surrounds the idea of god not being present in todays society.

What do you normally enjoy reading? How exactly did this novel turn out (in general)? Instead of saying "I have made an effort" perhaps be more definite and confident. maybe start with a hook about the idea of life after God, then go into what the book is and why you chose it and how it conflicts with your own personal opinions. To conclude you could ask the reader a rhetorical question about Gods place in their life and how the book may compliment, change, or opppose that. (this may be cliche but its an idea) I hope this is some help, if you dont want to change the intro you could use these ideas as a springboard in your further work, good luck. =)
ReplyDeleteactually, I love your idea..
ReplyDeletei never though that maybe my work choice makes me sound less confident.
Well, Alec, your going to hate me.. but i love books like twilight... Just kidding!
I like to read books on true crime, not a fan of fiction - or books that are against my beliefs, which i though this book was.
thanks for your insight.. i will change this as soon as i get a chance :)

ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that your welcome post is not very 'welcoming'.
ReplyDeleteI would make it more blog than book concentrated (you will have the Personal Reflection to describe the influence that the book had on you).
I like your blog, although you could add the article and interview as a link not text.
